Accommodation

While The Bulawayo Club has been lovingly renovated, much of the original furniture, fittings and early colonial artwork remains. Visitors will be walking in the steps of the giants, both illustrious and notorious, of southern African history.

On the second floor, the Club’s fifteen rooms have been brought into the 21st Century with décor and fabrics which complement the dignified surroundings. The rooms are light and welcoming, with the high ceilings, big windows and Oregon pine floors fashionable in a bygone era.

Standard rooms have either queen beds or twin double beds, overhead fans and ensuite bathrooms. Each room is unique, some with balconies overlooking Bulawayo’s streetlife, some courtyard-facing.

Two suites provide an adjoining lounge with satellite TV. On the same floor our Residents Lounge and balcony provides the convenience of a mini-bar, tea and coffee station and satellite TV.

“Governors’ Restaurant” is one of the most gracious and memorable dining venues in the city where hotel residents and causal guests can enjoy a fine dining experience. The restaurant is served by the “Lobengula Cocktail Lounge” which commemorates the last king of Matabele people. Throughout the day, a light menu is available al fresco in “The Atrium.”

On the first floor, a suite of versatile meeting rooms handle a variety of functions, from board meetings to formal dinners, seminars and private celebrations.

The ground floor boasts the best billiards room in the city, as well as the famous “Long Bar” and the Member’s Library with its collection of rare books.
